Arrested Development

Reprising its WOMADelaide Presenting Partner sponsorship, Internode will again livestream major performances via its Content Distribution Network. This allows people who can't attend the four-day world music festival to watch and listen to some great WOMAD shows for free over the Internet.

As well as Arrested Development, Internode's current livestream lineup includes Portuguese fado chanteuse Carminho and Algerian activist singer Rachid Taha. Internode expects to finalise more livestreaming agreements of Stage One shows before WOMADelaide starts on Friday, March 7.

Internode will also livestream several performers, including Sydney-based Assyrian Iraqi Band Azadoota, from the Taste the World Tent, sharing their favourite recipes with Channel 7 resident chef Rosa Matto.

WOMADelaide - Adelaide's take on the wonderful World Of Music Art and Dance festival series launched by Peter Gabriel in 1980 - attracted nearly 90,000 people last year. Thousands more tuned in to selected WOMAD acts from via Internode's livestreams.

Internode Content Manager Heidi Angove said livestreaming WOMADelaide shows was a "win-win". "It provides exposure for the artists as well as creating great online content, that can be enjoyed both during and after the festival, through the Internode CDN," she said.

As well as providing on-the-ground technical skills and equipment to enable the live-streaming process, Internode will negotiate a full-rights clearance with all artists involved.

WOMADelaide, a highlight of the Adelaide entertainment calendar that's dubbed ‘the world's festival', is part of the global cycle of WOMAD (World of Music Arts and Dance) events held around the world each year. WOMADelaide will run from Friday, March 7, until Monday, May 10.
