Ronald McDonald House Charities forms community partnership with iiNet

28 January 2015

Perth: Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia has today announced iiNet has become their National Telecommunications Partner. iiNet will support Ronald McDonald Houses across Australia by providing products and services, financial support and staff volunteers for the next three years.

To celebrate the new partnership iiNet CEO David Buckingham and his executive team will be volunteering at Ronald McDonald House Perth tonight, cooking and serving dinner to the families staying at the House. This will be the first of 2640 volunteer hours iiNet staff have committed to this new community partnership.

David Buckingham said iiNet had more than 2000 staff across Australia and New Zealand who were enthusiastic about lending a hand at their local Ronald McDonald House.

“We’ve always helped out where we could at Ronald McDonald House Perth, but as a large, growing telco, we were looking for a partnership with truly national reach,” David said. “Giving back is important to iiNet and we are all incredibly excited and proud of our new partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities.”

Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia has 14 Houses across Australia which accommodate nearly 300 families a night and more than 6500 families a year. iiNet coming on board as a National Partner will help support families when they need it most by keeping them connected with friends and family while they stay at the House.

Malcolm Coutts OAM, CEO at Ronald McDonald House Charities, said: “Being able to partner with iiNet, which shares the same values and commitment to the community as Ronald McDonald House Charities, is fantastic. Ronald McDonald Houses provide help to thousands of families across Australia in a time of need, so support like this is invaluable.”

ïiNet are committed to keeping Australians connected and keeping Australian families with seriously ill children connected and together is the Mission of Ronald McDonald Houses. Our new partnership with iiNet will greatly assist us in achieving this on a daily basis,” Mr Coutts added.
