iiNet speeds up 10,000 on the NBN

19 March 2013: Award-winning service provider iiNet has connected more than 10,000 customers to the National Broadband Network (NBN) across fibre, satellite, and fixed wireless services.

iiNet Chief Executive Officer, Michael Malone, said the milestone reflects the iiNet Group’s support of the project and experience in connecting customers to super-fast broadband.

“We’ve hit our stride when it comes to connecting people to the NBN quickly and smoothly, and getting access to Australia’s best internet with iiNet is hassle-free. Best of all, no matter what NBN connection our customers receive, they can bank on getting our awesome customer service and support.”

“New customers can be confident connecting to the NBN with iiNet because we make the process simple, quick and jargon-free. We’ll also recommend the best plan for our existing customers to ensure switching to the NBN is easy,” Mr Malone said.

“As we’ve said before, the sooner we can connect more people to super-fast broadband the better and we're looking forward to connecting thousands more as the rollout continues.”

About iiNet

iiNet is Australia’s second largest DSL Internet Service Provider (ISP) and the leading challenger in the telecommunications market. We employ more than 2000 inquisitive staff across four countries and support over 1.3 million broadband, telephony and Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) services nationwide.

We’re a publicly listed company and we maintain our own super-fast broadband network. Our vision is to lead the market with products that harness the potential of the Internet and then differentiate with award-winning customer service.

To achieve this, we employ creative thinkers and true advocates of technology. Our people are a huge part of the iiNet success story, so we’ve developed a unique and stimulating work culture to ensure they remain engaged and inspired.

A lot has changed since our CEO founded iiNet in a suburban garage back in 1993 and the broadband landscape continues to evolve. What hasn’t changed is our passion for the transformative benefits of the Internet and our commitment to helping Australians connect better.
