Comparing  Cultures
The first people to live inWestern Australia were the Aborigines. They are believed to have arrived here about 30,000 years ago. Originating in Asia, the newcomers gradually spread out over much of Australia. They developed a style of living that was very successful. Dwelling in harmony with the land, the Aboriginal culture did it no harm. In return, this country provided the Aborigines with food and shelter, and a sense of belonging.
