iiNet's new data centre
We recently powered up our brand new state-of-the-art Data Centre in Osborne Park, WA, and we're pretty pleased with the result.
Housing 88 of iiNet's racks, the Data Centre was developed with a few key factors in mind: efficiency, reliability, reducing operational costs and the environment.
To achieve this, we invested in APC's Hot Aisle Containment System, which sees racks housed in a special enclosure that prevents the cold air (necessary to prevent network equipment from overheating) from mixing with the hot air pushed into the aisle during the cooling process.
The result? One of Australia's most energy efficient Data Centres that can certainly weather a storm.
Here's how we got there:

Initial works outside the facility to cater for the new HV Transformer.

Footings and conduits for the HV Transformer.

HV Transformer compound being erected.

Early stages of ceiling and cable preparation, looking through the Data-Centre to the UPS room.

Batteries being commissioned to support the 2 x 250 Kw APC UPS's.

Initial placement of the APC in-row cooling units.

Racks being positioned adjacent to in-row cooling units.

Racks fully installed and connected to the overhead bus duct.

The 550 Kva Generator supplied by Project Rentals.
