What is the Internet?

Basically, the internet is a bunch of computer networks that share information with one another. Well, it's actually a whole lot more than a bunch. The internet is working all around the world and it's growing every day.

So how do computer networks share information with one another? Computer networks can be linked by copper wires, fibre-optic cables, wireless connections and many more technologies. Through these cables and connections, they transmit data from one computer to another.

The amount of cool stuff you can do and see on the internet is endless. Some common uses are email, browsing webpages and websites, sharing files, phoning people (using VoIP), watching TV, videos or listening to music plus much, much more.
