iiNet's Web Accelerator monitors and adapts to your web surfing to increase the speed at which webpages load. This is available for free for all unlimited hours dialup accounts.
how to get it
- Sign into Toolbox with your username and password.
- Go to Account Functions -> Web Accelerator and follow the prompt to enable this feature on your account.
- Follow the instructions provided in Toolbox to download and install the software on your computer.

how does it work?
Web Accelerator maximises acceleration for your regularly visited websites. The first time you visit a webpage, it will download roughly 2 times faster, with subsequent visits downloading progressively faster, up to five times normal speed. This is achieved through:

intelligent downloading
Webpages are analysed before being displayed to ensure that content already in your computer's memory (from previous visits) isn't being downloaded again. -
content filtering - free pop-up blocker
Pop-up content and banner ads can be blocked, greatly increasing the download speed of the content you actually want to see! -
compression
Images are compressed by removing some of the detail, drastically reducing file size for quicker downloads.

All text and imagery (including email imagery in dedicated programs), as well as mp3 files and executables initiated from within your web browser. -
what can't be accelerated
Streaming media, audio and video files cannot be accelerated, nor can content derived from secure pages, FTP or VPN.
