what do i need to get VOIP?
Okay don't panic. Things are about to get a teeny but technical. But it's simple really. To get your VOIP connected, all you need are:
- a broadband connection
VOIP uses your broadband connection instead of your regular landline to make and receive calls. So you'll need to make sure you've got an active broadband service for VOIP to work. - a VOIP adapter (ATA)
Connect this to your broadband modem/router and plug in any touch tone telephone. A VOIP adapter is useful if you currently have a modem/router that isn't VOIP-ready. - or
- a VOIP-enabled broadband modem or router
This is an all-in-one solution - plug in a phone and start calling. It's useful if you don't have a modem, or if the one you've got is old. Our range of VOIP-ready modems/routers includes both wireless and standard versions.
