what is a static IP?
A static IP address is a permanent address for your computer. It's a series of numbers and dots that allows computers to locate and talk to each other on the internet - similar to how we use phone numbers to locate and talk to people.
| Number of IPs | Cost per year |
|---|---|
| 4 | $64 |
| 8 | $128 |
| 16 | $256 |
| 32 | $512 |
All iiNet business broadband plans come with a static IP, as well as an additional block of 4 IPs available on request at no additional charge.
Please note: The first and last IP of each block is not useable. Therefore, a block of 4 IPs contains 2 useable IPs.
What can I do with a static ip?
A static IP allows you to host your own services on your broadband connection without needing to notify everyone each time you reconnect to the internet. Services can include a web or FTP server for distributing content, hosting your own mail server to run a mailing list or provide additional mailboxes, or hosting your own games servers.
