Michael Smith

Chairman
Appointed a director of the Company on 6 June 2006. Michael Smith began his career with TVW Limited, after which he joined the Perth advertising agency, McAuliffe & Goff. In 1979, he formed The Marketing Centre, where he is the Managing Director. The firm has been providing strategic marketing advice to leading Australian and international companies since its inception.
Michael currently chairs Synergy, Scotch College and the Perth International Arts Festival. He is a director of 7-Eleven stores, a chain of 350 convenience stores on Australia's east coast, and of Home Building Society Ltd., listed on the ASX. He is also a council member for the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is a fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute and Australian Institute of Management, an executive member of the American Marketing Association, a chartered management consultant and member of the Institute of Management Consultants.
Michael was formerly the chairman and director of the West Coast Eagles and a director of Indian Pacific Ltd. He was also the state president of the Australian Marketing Institute and a member on the Federal Board. Other past board positions include chairman of the Pearling Industry Advisory Committee and of Barking Gecko Theatre Company.
Michael Malone

Michael was the founder of iiNet and has seen the company grow from humble beginnings in 1993 to a Public Company with revenues of over $200 million dollars in 2006. Having been involved in the Internet industry since its commercial inception in Australia, Michael has been President of the WA Internet Association from 1996 to 2002, board member and Chairman of the .au Domain Administration and one of the founders of Electronic Frontiers Australia. He is presently a member of the Advisory Board of the Australian Institute of Management.
Michael has won an industry lifetime Achiever award in the WA Information Technology and Telecommunications Awards in 2005. He was the winner of the Business News Award in 2006 for the most outstanding business leader in WA under the age of 40, and the Young Leader of the Year in the JML Australia Human Capital Leadership Awards in the same year.
Andrew Milner

Andrew has 15 years experience in the IT sector, having founded and managed a number of successful high-growth businesses during that time. Prior to his appointment to the iiNet board in 1999, Andrew was the Managing Director and principal shareholder of Western Australia's second largest ISP, Wantree Internet. Andrew served as General Manager of iiNet's carrier business Chime Communications until his appointment as non-executive director in 2003. He also serves as Chairman of L7 Solutions, one of Western Australia's largest and fastest growing IT Systems Integrators.
Peter James

Peter James is Managing Director of Adcorp Australia Limited, a publicly listed advertising and communications company. Based in Sydney, Peter has a successful track record across a range of complex businesses including technology, outsourcing, services, recruitment, education and manufacturing. He has over 12 years experience as a Board Member of Public Companies and 7 years as CEO/Group Managing Director.
Peter was an Executive Director of Computer Power Group Ltd from 1991 and subsequently CEO from 1996 until 1999 when he negotiated the Company's sale to a US based multi-national realising significant value to all shareholders. During his period as CEO Computer Power Group was rated as one of Australia's top 100 growth companies. Peter is the former President and Group Managing Director of Spherion Asia Pacific, the former CEO of Ainsworth Game Technology and was non-Executive Director of HarvestRoad Limited from 1999 - 2003. Peter brings to the Board significant experience in business development, strategic planning and marketing and has over 30 years experience in the communication and information technology industries.
Paul Broad
Non-Executive Director
Paul Broad was appointed as Managing Director of PowerTel in November 2004, following 15 years of service as Managing Director of some of Australia's largest energy and water companies. He was also one of the original board members who founded PowerTel in 1999, using energy infrastructure to give PowerTel it's competitive edge.
Paul's business management experience derived from his tenures as Managing Director for Hunter Water and Sydney Water Corporation.
PowerTel is a substantial shareholder of iiNet.
Tony Grist

Tony Grist is Chairman of Amcom Telecommunications Limited, an ASX listed company. Tony established a Western Australian based private investment group in 1991, and brings to the board significant international public company management expertise.
Tony holds a number of board positions including director of the following listed companies over the past three years:
- Amcom Telecommunications Limited
- Alto Energy International Limited
- Hillgrove Resources Limited (November 2002 to April 2005)
Amcom is a substantial shareholder of iiNet.
David Grant
Non-Executive Director
David Grant has many years experience as Chief Financial Officer of Iluka Resources and with Goodman Fielder spanning a range of corporate and divisional financial roles. In those roles, David has been responsible for, among other things, risk management, adherence with corporate governance principles, investor relations and project evaluation.
