Our workplace

our workplace

iiNet employs more than 2000 staff across seven offices in three countries, with our head office still in our home town of Perth, Western Australia.

iiNet provides staff with a unique and interesting suite of benefits to ensure working at iiNet is an unforgettable experience. Not many workplaces would organise for staff to climb Mt Kilimanjaro; invite staff to wear their PJs to work; pay people to surf Facebook (social media team); send people on a night excursion to the observatory; or install a chocolate fountain in the kitchen for some Friday fun.

Work life balance

Work life balance

As part of our commitment to customer service and helping our staff strike a healthy work-life balance, iiNet has adopted a 'Follow the Sun' methodology for our customer service staff. The concept is simple - regardless of the time of call from our customers, our support lines are answered by a representative operating within local, agreeable working hours.

In December 2008, iiNet piloted a Work from Home (WFH) trial with 14 staff from its Perth customer service centre. Now, three years later the program is still going strong nearly 90 staff working from home in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.

The WFH program has been a win-win for both iiNet and its employees. By providing the program to top performers, we've played a part in helping staff cut-down on the stress and expense of commuting, while reducing carbon emissions from travel.

On the move

On the move

One of the perks of having our operations spread across seven locations, is that we can offer staff looking for a change of pace the opportunity to apply for internal vacancies or secondments to another iiNet post.

In the last couple of years , we've seen teams of Customer Service Representatives travel across time zones on three month 'exchange' secondments to Cape Town, Melbourne, Canberra, Adeliade, Perth and Auckland. Through our secondments, staff are able to share knowledge and training while living our corporate values.

We aim to promote vacancies internally whenever possible.. Over the years, we've seen many of our staff move up the ranks and across the business.

Health and wellbeing

Health and wellbeing

iiNet's Direct Healthline Solution gives our staff access to 24/7 professional support from a registered nurse. We also offer staff access to a free and confidential counselling service through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

iiNet also encourages staff (where appropriate) to make the most of iiNet's national Flu Shot program, corporate discounts with private health insurers and deals from allied health professionals to keep them in prime health.

There's no shortage of interest from our staff when it comes to community sporting events. Year after year our sports loving staff have proved geeks can be athletic and have participated in events like the Foxtel Lap, BRW Corporate Triathlon, National Walk to Work Day, City to Surf and the iiNet Autism West Team Sprint Cup.
