iiNet is taking positive action towards reducing its environmental impact. We’re committed to operating in a sustainable way, while still delivering the best internet access and coolest products.
There’s been a lot of political debate about climate change in recent years. At the time of writing this report, the future of a carbon policy in Australia remains unclear. Regardless of what happens, we believe that being carbon conscious and working to minimise our environmental footprint isn’t just a passing fad.
It’s a real and material issue that businesses and individuals can’t afford to ignore, and a sentiment that’s been echoed by staff and customers. In a recent survey we conducted, our customers and staff rated energy efficiency and environmental sustainability as big ticket concerns; and frankly, we’d have to agree.
This is the first year that iiNet has publicly reported on its environmental impact. Recognising this impact and acknowledging that we can do more, along with taking steps to measure, benchmark and improve what we’re doing right now is an important milestone.
