
This is a fun lesson that works on a variety of different curricula areas, as well as working on logical and creative decision making. This is a task that allows students to travel with the trekkers, and understand how long they would survive if they were to cross Victoria Island themselves.

This is a simple idea that attaches itself to a number of objectives. Students write a short four-lined poem based on one of the photos taken by Chris & Clark on their expedition. This activity encourages students to think imaginatively and use prior knowledge to explain through poetry what is occurring in the photo, as well as encapsulating the spirit of the image.

This is the perfect 'precursor' lesson to the iiNet 1000HourDay Expedition. In this activity, students are to write a report on Victoria Island. Through this, students will learn in detail the various aspects of Victoria Island, and gain an insight into what Chris & Clark would have had to research before they planned the expedition.

Monitoring Chris & Clark's travel, students keep a logbook of the expedition as if they were traveling with them. Each day/week/Monday, students would research and read up on the trekker's current position & situation, and creatively log in the events of the time period. Depending on the age group of the students, frequency of the logging, and expectations of the task, students this task can be modified in a variety of ways (see the extension section of this task).
